Assemble

Lubricate all rotating parts and bearings with ATF-Dexron II or equivalent, during assembly. Soak new blocker rings in ATF-Dexron II or equivalent, for 15 minutes prior to installation.

1. Install third drive gear bearing, third drive gear and synchronizer blocker ring.

2. Install third gear synchronizer spring on third drive gear blocker.

3. Press on 3-4 synchronizer hub. Ensure tangs on blocker ring are aligned with slots on hub.

4. Install 3-4 synchronizer sleeve. Ensure marks on sleeve and hub are aligned.

5. Install 3-4 input gear bearing race. Warm bearing with hands or heat gun to ease installation.

6. Install fourth drive gear bearing.

7. Install fourth gear synchronizer spring on fourth gear synchronizer blocker ring and install assembly.

8. Install fourth drive gear, hub side down.

9. Install fourth input gear thrust washer, then press input shaft bearing onto shaft with snap ring groove down.

10. Install fifth gear bearing inner race and thrust washer. Warm bearing with hands or heat gun to ease installation.
