Input Shaft Clearance Measurement

1. Assemble input shaft with fifth gear bearing, fifth gear, fifth/reverse synchronizer assembly, reverse cone and washer. Use old nut and torque to 110 lbs. ft.

2. Measure clearance between fifth drive gear and fifth gear thrust washer. Correct clearance is 0.008-0.014 inch.






3. Measure clearance between fourth drive gear and fourth gear thrust washer. Correct clearance is 0.008-0.014 inch.

4. Measure clearance between third drive gear and input shaft. Correct clearance is 0.008-0.014 inch.
