Front Door Trim Panel

REMOVAL





1. Remove screws and mirror trim panel. If equipped with manual remote mirror, allow panel to hang from adjustment cable.
2. Remove power door lock switch (if equipped) by prying out at top of switch with a small, straight screwdriver with the blade covered to protect surfaces.
Disconnect wire harness connector.





3. Remove screws, slide door handle assembly forward and pull outward. Using a long thin screwdriver, disengage lock and latch rods from retainers. Remove handle assembly.





4. Disengage manual window regulator handle clip with a standard handle tool, or by working a cloth back and forth between the handle and the bearing plate.
Remove handle and plate.
5. Remove screws and door pull cup.





6. Remove inner belt sealing strip.
7. On Coupe, remove screw from rear of trim panel.





8. Disengage door trim panel retainers from door assembly with a trim panel tool and remove panel assembly.


INSTALLATION
1. Install door trim panel by engaging all retainers into door assembly and then pressing firmly at panel retainer locations.
2. Install door pull clip with screws. Tighten screws.
3. Install manual window regulator handle clip on handle.
Install bearing plate and handle with handle pointed in a forward and slightly up position with window closed.

NOTICE: If trim panel fasteners do not retain trim panel snuggly to the door, a rattle or buzz will occur. If greater retention is required, use fastener # 21042104.





4. Position door handle assembly in trim panel.
Tip handle outward at top.
Using a thin hook style tool, lift latch and lock rods into retainers and engage retainer clamps.
Push handle into trim panel and slide rearward to engage tabs.
Install screw in handle. Tighten screws.
5. Connect harness to power door lock switch, if equipped. Install switch into handle assembly.





6. Install inner belt sealing strip.
7. Install mirror trim panel with screws. Tighten screws.
