Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview
The
cargo lamp is used to illuminate the cargo (trunk) area of the vehicle when the decklid has been opened. When the decklid is opened the
cargo lamp switch closes to provide a ground path for the cargo lamp. There are redundant ground paths for the cargo lamp switch. The first ground path is through the ground ring terminal (circuits 550DF/550DE-sedan or 550DY/550DZ-coupe) attached to the cargo lamp switch (decklid latch). The redundant ground path is through the decklid and hinges to the body structure of the vehicle.
