PCM Inputs

The brake circuit consists of battery voltage sent through a cruise/brake switch to the PCM and cruise module. When the brake is not applied, the brake circuit sends voltage to the cruise module and the PCM. As the brake is being depressed (voltage is removed), the cruise module will disengage the cruise clutch and under certain conditions the torque converter clutch will also disengage. The PCM acts as a redundant disable for the cruise clutch when the brake is applied in case the module was unable to disengage cruise. If the PCM detects a brake circuit fault the cruise will be disabled. If the brake switch is stuck closed when the vehicle has cycled two times from 0-55 km/h (0-33 mph)and vehicle speed decreases more than 4 km/h (2.5 mph) per second, cruise will be released.
