Knee Diverter: Service and Repair

NOTE: If knee bolster shows any visible damage, it should be replaced, not repaired.
1. Remove lefthand and righthand lower trim panel extensions.
2. Remove center air outlet/trim panel.
3. Remove upper trim panel screw caps, screws and panel.
4. Open glove box.
5. Tilt steering wheel down.
6. Remove four cluster trim panel screws, then disengage panel from retainers.
7. Remove connector position assurance (CPA) devices and disconnect electrical connectors from instrument panel lighting rheostat and rear window defogger switches.
8. Remove cluster trim panel.
9. Remove screws and data link connector (DLC).
10. Remove knee bolster screws and knee bolster.
11. Reverse procedure to install.
