Actuator Quick Check

Procedure:
1. Using a Scan tool, verify that all park/neutral position switch readings (P, R, N, 3, and 2) are correct.
2. Raise the hood so that the actuators will be audible.
3. Key in Run, engine Off, locate the actuator special test.

This test will allow the PCM to Pulse Width Modulate (PWM) each actuator at a set duty cycle. Listen and compare the noise of the suspected faulty actuator(s). If they are functioning properly, they should all sound similar. If the noise coming from the suspected faulty actuator(s) is faint or not present, replace the actuator.

IMPORTANT: Prior to replacing any actuator, check all connections at the actuator and connector plate.
