Air Injection Pump Relay: Description and Operation
DESCRIPTION The air pump solenoid is energized when the
PCM supplies ground to the solenoid circuit. This creates a negative field that moves the solenoid armature and opens the air pump solenoid. With the solenoid open, vacuum from the throttle body opens a diaphragm within the combination valve.
