Ignition Switch

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The ignition switch controls battery voltage to many subsystems on the vehicle. The ignition switch has four positions:

Lock
The only position in which the key can be removed. Push the key in an turn to the "Lock" position. This locks your steering, ignition and automatic transaxle shift lever.

Accessory
An electrical power on position in which some electrical power accessories can be operated.

Run
This position is an electrical power "On" position to which the switch returns after the engine is started. The switch stays in the "Run" position when the engine is running. But even when the engine is not running, the "Run" position can be used to operate electrical power accessories, systems, and instrument panel warning lights.

Start/Crank
This position supplies electrical power to the starter and electronic ignition system.

The ignition switch also has a key reminder (key in ignition) feature. A warning chime will sound if the driver's door is opened with key in ignition.
