Parking Brake Warning Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL





1. Remove park brake boot by squeezing boot on sides while pulling upwards.





2. Remove park brake alarm electrical connector.
3. Remove park brake alarm to lever attachment bolt.
4. Remove park brake alarm.

INSTALLATION
1. Position park brake alarm and install fastener.
Torque: 2.5 Nm (22 inch lbs.)
2. Install park brake alarm electrical connector.
3. Install park brake boot into console assembly.

REMOVAL





1. Remove console assembly.
2. Remove park brake adjuster nut.





3. Detach park brake warning switch electrical connector.





4. Remove park brake lever-to-floor pan nuts.

IMPORTANT: Keep tension on park brake cable so it does not disengage from
equalizer.

5. Carefully remove park brake lever from vehicle while guiding cable through lever.

INSTALLATION
1. Position brake lever into vehicle while guiding park brake cable into the lever.
2. Tighten park brake lever-to-floor pan nuts.
Torque: 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.)
3. Install park brake warning switch electrical connector.





4. Install park brake adjuster nut.
5. Install console.
6. Adjust parking brake.
