Resonator Replacement

REMOVAL

CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON HOIST.





1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Remove fasteners that hold exhaust manifold pipe to exhaust resonator.





3. Remove exhaust resonator to muffler attachment clamp.
4. Separate exhaust resonator from muffler by pulling and twisting in opposite directions.





5. Remove exhaust resonator isolators.
6. Remove exhaust resonator.

INSTALLATION





1. Position exhaust resonator into vehicle and install isolators.

NOTICE: Do not tighten clamp and crush exhaust pipe.





2. Slide muffler assembly onto exhaust resonator and tighten clamp.





3. Install exhaust resonator to exhaust manifold pipe and tighten fasteners.
^ Torque: 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)
4. Lower vehicle from hoist.
5. Check entire exhaust system for leaks.
