Muffler: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON HOIST.





1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Remove muffler to exhaust resonator pipe clamp assembly.
3. Slide muffler off of exhaust resonator pipe.





4. Remove muffler isolators.
5. Remove muffler from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

1. Position muffler assembly into vehicle and install isolators.

IMPORTANT: Do not tighten clamp and crush exhaust pipe.





2. Slide muffler pipe onto exhaust resonator pipe and install clamp.
3. Lower vehicle from hoist.
4. Check entire exhaust system for leaks.
