The 2000 Saturn Special Tools Service Manual incorrectly lists the Transaxle Support Fixture Base (J3289-20) as an essential tool under the Transaxle - Automatic section. This tool was deleted from the essential tool development list. The error will be corrected in the 2001 Special Tools Service Manual.
The correct tool to use when servicing the 2000 L-Series automatic transaxle out of vehicle is the Engine Stand Fixture Adapter (J43964) (illustrated below).
The J43964 essential tool was shipped to all Saturn retail service facilities in April, 1999. We apologize for any misunderstanding this may have caused.
