EVAP Control System Diagnostic Procedure

The enhanced evaporative system diagnostic is a precise series of five operational sub-tests on the system. In some cases, the failure of only one sub-tests will end all evaporative system testing. However, in many cases, the on-board diagnostic system will conduct a series of sub-tests before any DTCs are set.

The Diagnostic Trouble Codes associated with the system include DTC P0440, P0442, P0443, P0444, P0446, P0447, P0448, P0451, P0452, P0453, P1441. Refer to appropriate diagnostic trouble code in "Powertrain Control Module Diagnostics" for further description and fault analysis.
