C0045

LEFT REAR WHEEL SPEED SENSOR MALFUNCTION (NO SIGNAL/INVALID SIGNAL)
The rear wheel speed sensors monitor speed of each wheel by placing a magnetic coupling and a toothed ring internal to the rear wheel bearings. This sensor produces a AC signal that the EBTCM uses to calculate wheel speed. The signal frequency changes with the wheel speed.

CODE PARAMETERS
DTC C0045 will set if:
- Left rear wheel speed circuit is open, grounded, or shorted to battery.
- This code can set anytime after the key is turned to the RUN position.
When the trouble code sets, ABS is disable ABS and the antilock telltale is turned on..
Dynamic rear proportioning (DRP) will have minor degradation unless a RR wheel speed code or a RR apply solenoid code is also set, then DRP is disabled and the RED brake telltale is turned on.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
Before proceeding with the trouble tree, make a thorough visual inspection of the wheel speed sensor circuitry. Closely inspect the inline connector(s) since this is the most likely area for opens and shorts.
When attempting to diagnose an intermittent problem, use the Scan tool to review supplemental diagnostic information. The Supplemental data can be used to duplicate a problem.
Intermittents, shorts or opens suspected to be at the connectors can be detected by using a diagnostic service probe. Voltage can be read on wires without disconnecting any connectors.
Check the tightness of the female grip with a spare male terminal.
