Horn: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Remove left headlamp assembly.
2. Remove headlamp attachment bolts, one upper and one lower, connecting to the headlamp mounting bracket.
3. Disconnect headlamp bulb and turn signal sockets from headlamp housing.
4. Pull center edge of housing forward, then slide headlamp housing toward center of vehicle to remove.
5. Disconnect horn connector.
6. Remove horn bolt.
7. Remove horn assembly.
(1) horn connector.
(2) Horn.
(3) Horn bolt.
(4) Left front motor compartment rail.
(5) Forward lamp harness - horn lead.
INSTALLATION
1. Install horn assembly, lining up horn bracket to rail.
2. Install horn bolt.
Torque: 10 N.m (89 in-lbs).
3. Connect horn connector.
4. Install headlamp bulb sockets and turn signal socket into headlamp housing. Rotate sockets to lock in place.
5. Slide headlamp housing into place on vehicle.
6. Align housing and install attaching bolts.
Torque: 6 N.m (53 in-lbs).
7. Check headlamp aim. Adjust if required.
CAUTION: HALOGEN BULBS CONTAIN A GAS UNDER PRESSURE. HANDLING A BULB IMPROPERLY COULD CAUSE IT TO SHATTER INTO FLYING GLASS FRAGMENTS. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY:
- Turn Off the headlamp switch and allow the bulb to cool before changing bulbs. Leave the headlamp switch Off until the bulb change is complete.
- Always wear eye protection when changing a halogen bulb.
- handle the bulb only by its base. Avoid touching the glass.
- Do not drop or scratch the bulb. Keep moisture away.
- Place the used bulb in the new bulb's carton and dispose of it properly. Keep halogen bulbs out of the reach of children.
