EGR Tube: Service and Repair

Removal

CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON A HOIST, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE VEHICLE ON THE OPPOSITE END FROM WHICH COMPONENTS ARE BEING REMOVED. MAKE SURE HOIST DOES NOT CONTACT FUEL OR BRAKE LINES.





1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Remove bolt that attaches EGR pipe to intake manifold.
3. Lower vehicle.
4. Remove bolt that attaches EGR pipe to cylinder head.
5. Remove EGR pipe. Make sure EGR gaskets are not retained in intake manifold or cylinder head.

Installation
1. Assemble EGR pipe assembly with new gasket to intake manifold.
2. Install EGR pipe with new gasket to cylinder head with attachment bolt.
Torque: 25 Nm (19 ft. lbs.)
3. Raise vehicle.
4. Install EGR pipe to intake manifold with attachment bolt.
Torque: 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.)
5. Lower vehicle.
