2. Checking Torque Converter End Play

- TOOLS REQUIRED
- SA9163T Converter End Play Tool

IMPORTANT: The torque converter should be replaced if the end play measures over the maximum specification or if there has been a hard parts failure such as gears, shafts, or pumps. If there has been only a clutch failure and the torque converter end play is within specifications it is not necessary to replace the torque converter.





1. Install end play tool SA9163T into converter so that tool engages with splines.
2. Attach dial indicator as shown.
3. Lift-up on T-handle of tool and check end play.
End Play:
Standard: 0.00 mm - 0.60 mm (0.000 inch - 0.026 inch)
