Clutch Housing Cover Re-Adjustment Procedure
1. Place clutch cover on a flat surface with clutch plate fingers facing up. Using two screwdrivers, push counter-clockwise on two adjuster ring tabs to prevent the adjuster ring tabs from suddenly moving forward. At the same time, using a press, depress clutch plate fingers until adjuster ring tabs begin to move freely.
NOTICE: If adjuster ring tab falls off cover tab, the clutch has adjusted past designed wear allowance. If this happens, the clutch will be difficult to turn back, and caution should be used to prevent damage to springs or tabs. If springs or tabs are damaged during any part of this procedure, a new clutch should be installed onto vehicle.
2. Compress springs by pushing adjuster ring tabs counter-clockwise. The clutch is fully re-adjusted when the compressed spring length is between 15 mm - 20 mm (0.59 inch - 0.79 inch).
3. While holding adjuster ring tabs in this position, remove pressure on clutch plate fingers.
4. Remove clutch cover from press and install onto vehicle.
