Output Shaft: Service and Repair

OUTPUT AXLE SHAFT SLEEVE

- TOOLS REQUIRED
- J41228 Stub Shaft Sleeve Installer
- SA9211T-2 5th Gear Remover

REMOVAL





1. Remove transaxle case side cover.
2. Remove snap ring from output axle shaft and discard.





3. Remove output axle shaft sleeve from output shaft using 5th Gear Remover SA9211T-2.

INSTALLATION





1. Use Stub Shaft Sleeve Installer J41228 to install new sleeve on output axle shaft. Ensure that collet is located in snap ring groove when installing.





2. Install a new snap ring on output axle shaft.
3. Install transaxle case side cover.
4. Start engine, warm up transaxle, and check for leaks.
5. Check fluid level.
