Dash Insulator Replacement - Front

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the overflow bottle and the windshield washer hoses from the front of the dash clips by unsnapping the clips.
2. On manual transaxle equipped vehicles, remove the clutch reservoir hose from the clip.
3. Remove the hose clips by turning counterclockwise.
4. Remove the plenum drain tubes by squeezing the tubes and pulling away from the insulator.
5. Remove the brake vacuum booster.
6. Cut the front of the dash insulator at the locations shown on the illustration.
7. Pull upward on the front of the dash insulator to remove it from the front of the dash.
8. After the front of the dash insulator has been removed, apply Elpo coating to any front of dash area that may have been scratched while cutting the insulator.

Installation Procedure

1. Cut the material on the new dash mat as shown on illustration prior to installing the dash mat.
2. Slide the insulator into vehicle from the top.
3. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
4. Grab the insulator from the bottom and pull down. Continue until the insulator has been properly positioned in the vehicle
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Install the brake vacuum booster.
7. Install the plenum drain hoses.
8. Install the dash clips by turning clockwise.
9. Install the overflow bottle and the windshield washer hoses into the clips. Snap into place.
10. On manual transaxle equipped vehicles, install the clutch reservoir clips and hose.
11. Install the cowl seal.
