Garnish Molding Replacement - Body Lock Pillar Upper (Sedan 2nd Design)

Removal Procedure

Important: Before removing, note the position of the door weatherstrip over the edge of the body lock pillar upper garnish molding.





1. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement (Coupe) (Rear Seat Cushion Replacement (Coupe))Rear Seat Cushion Replacement (Sedan/Wagon) (Rear Seat Cushion Replacement (Sedan/Wagon)) in Seats.




2. Remove the shoulder belt anchor fastener.




3. Pull firmly at the body lock pillar upper garnish molding clip locations to disengage the clips.
4. Slide the shoulder belt unit out of the opening in the molding and remove the molding.

Installation Procedure




1. Route the shoulder belt through the opening in the lock pillar upper garnish molding making sure the belt is not twisted.
2. Align the lock pillar upper garnish molding clips and push firmly at the clip locations to secure the lock pillar garnish molding to the vehicle.





Caution: Apply Loctite 242(R) Threadlocker US P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489), or equivalent, on all restraint bolts/nuts before installation. Failure to use such threadlocker correctly may result in personal injury.

3. Route the shoulder belt to the floor and install the shoulder belt anchor bolt.

Tighten the rear shoulder belt bolt to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).




4. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement (Coupe) (Rear Seat Cushion Replacement (Coupe))Rear Seat Cushion Replacement (Sedan/Wagon) (Rear Seat Cushion Replacement (Sedan/Wagon)) in Seats.




5. Reposition the door weatherstrip over the edge of the garnish molding.
