Lumbar Support Cable Replacement (SC2/SL2/SW2)




Lumbar Support Cable Replacement (SC2/SL2/SW2)




1. Adjust the lumbar by turning the lumbar knob until the setting of least support is achieved.
2. Remove the seat from the vehicle. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (Front Seat Replacement - Bucket).




3. Remove the headrest assembly.

1. Raise the headrest assembly to the full up position.
2. Push the headrest lever towards the rear of the vehicle.
3. Pull the headrest out of the seatback.




4. Remove the lumbar knob retaining clip.
5. Remove the lumbar knob by pulling.
6. Remove the lumbar actuator fasteners.




7. Remove the lumbar actuator cable assembly by pushing rearward.
8. Thread the lumbar cable back over the riser bar to the rear side of the seat back.




9. Disengage the interlock strip at the bottom of the seat back.




10. Pull the seat cover up enough to expose the lumbar basket.
11. Place one hand at the top of the lumbar basket.
12. Press down with that hand while removing the lumbar actuator cable barrel from the slot.
13. Slide the lumbar actuator cable through the lumbar cable guide.
14. Pull the cable housing away from the cable at the actuator end.
15. Pull up on the cable removing the lumbar cable barrel from the actuator.

Installation Procedure




1. Insert the lumbar actuator cable barrel into the slot located at the top center of the lumbar basket.
2. Slide the cable through the lumbar guide.
3. Lower the seat back cover.
Check that the cover is centered on the seat back foam pad and frame.
4. Push down at the hook-and-loop fastener attachment to secure the seat back cover to the pads.
5. Check the fit of the cover and pull on the cover where necessary to remove wrinkles. Allow the free end of the actuator cable to hang loose at the outboard corner of the seat back cover and engage the interlock at the bottom of the cover.




6. Pull the cable housing away from the cable end and insert the cable barrel into the actuator slot.
7. Route the lumbar cable assembly forward between the seat cushion and the riser bar.
8. Align the lumbar actuator cable assembly guide with the slot in the actuator plate.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

9. Install the lumbar actuator fasteners.

Tighten the lumbar actuator fasteners to 3 Nm (27 lb in).

10. Align the grooves on the lumbar knob with the grooves on the lumbar actuator assembly and push to install.
11. Install the lumbar knob retaining clip.




12. Install the headrest assembly.




13. Install the seat in the vehicle. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (Front Seat Replacement - Bucket).
