READING DTCS WITH SCAN TOOLS

IMPORTANT: When communicating with the ABS control module using a Scan tool, the ABS system will be disabled.

When the ABS control module detects a fault, it stores a DTC in the General Information table (current DTCs) and signals the BCM to command the I/P cluster to illuminate the ABS telltale. When the ignition is switched off, the current DTCs are moved to the Malf History table (history DTCs) and cleared from the General Information table.
