Cruise Control Module Rod Adjustment

Cruise Control Module Rod Adjustment:

1. Observe position of throttle linkage to make sure the linkage is resting on the throttle stop screw.
2. Depress cruise cable adjuster release tabs and slide adjuster away from the module.
3. Move adjuster in toward module until the accelerator cable spring just touches cruise cable adjuster.

IMPORTANT: At this point the spring should NOT be compressed.

4. Move the cable adjuster one click toward the module. There should be a 1-2 mm (0.040-0.079 in.) compression of the spring. There now should be no play in the accelerator cable. The spring should be 1-2 mm compressed and the throttle linkage should be resting on the stop screw.

NOTE: Driveability problems may be encountered if the cruise control rod is not properly adjusted.

IMPORTANT: 1-2 mm (0.040-0.079 in.) is approximately one click movement of the adjuster.
