Heater Return Hose


Removal





1. Drain cooling system as directed in "Engine Coolant Check and Replacement."
2. Remove windshield washer bottle.





3. Remove clamp and thermostat hose from end of heater return pipe.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED PRIOR TO LIFTING. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON A HOIST, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE VEHICLE ON THE OPPOSITE END FROM WHICH COMPONENTS ARE TO BE REMOVED.

4. Raise vehicle.

CAUTION: PROTECT SKIN AND EYES FROM COOLANT THAT MAY BE LEFT IN PIPE AND HOSE. WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES.





5. Remove clamp and heater hose from cylinder block near thermostat housing.

Installation





1. Install heater hose and clamp to cylinder block near thermostat housing. Position clamp at 6 o'clock.
2. Lower vehicle.





3. Install hose and clamp to heater return pipe. Position clamp at 1 o'clock.





4. Install windshield washer bottle.
Torque: 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.)
5. Fill cooling system and leak check as directed in "Engine Coolant Check and Replacement."
6. Install and tighten coolant recovery reservoir cap.
