Testing the Cooling System


CAUTION: DO NOT REMOVE THE CAP FROM A HOT SYSTEM. ALLOW THE SYSTEM TO COOL, THEN SLOWLY REMOVE CAP.





1. Remove the cap from the coolant recovery reservoir.
2. Make sure that all the parts of the cap, tester, and adapter are clean.
3. Install surge tank adapter SA 9141E-2 to the coolant recovery reservoir.
4. Pump the tester until the gauge needle reaches 103 kPa (15 psi).

CAUTION:
^ WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES.
^ NEVER PUMP THE SYSTEM ABOVE 130 kPa (20 psi).


5. Watch to see if needle falls. Inspect all hoses for excessive swelling. Check all joints for leaks.
