Engine Mount Midrail Bracket

ENGINE MOUNT MIDRAIL BRACKET

REMOVAL

CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON HOIST. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT TO THE OPPOSITE END OF THE VEHICLE THAT COMPONENTS WILL BE REMOVED FROM.





1. Raise vehicle on a hoist.
2. Remove right front road wheel.
3. Remove right upper wheelhouse panel.





4. Lower vehicle enough to allow underhood access to engine mount.
5. Remove two engine mount-to-midrail bracket fasteners.
6. Place a floor jack under engine oil pan (use a block of wood between oil pan and jack). Raise powertrain just enough to unload the mount. (Engine is raised enough when there is clearance between the mount and midrail bracket.)

NOTICE: If the engine mount front cover stud turns or comes out during nut removal, the stud must be fully installed prior to installing the mount and/or nut. Damage to the front cover may occur if the stud is driven with the nut and does not sufficiently engage the front cover threads.





7. Remove the three engine mount-to-front cover fasteners and remove engine mount.





8. From engine side of bracket, remove four bracket-to-midrail fasteners.
9. From wheelhouse side of bracket, remove three bracket-to-midrail fasteners and remove bracket.

INSTALLATION
1. Position bracket to midrail.
2. Hand start all seven fasteners. (Four fasteners attach from engine side of bracket, and three fasteners attach from wheelhouse side of bracket.)
3. Tighten all fasteners.
Torque: Midrail Bracket Fasteners: 32 Nm (24 ft. lbs.)

NOTICE: If the engine mount front cover stud turns or comes out during nut removal, the stud must be fully installed prior to installing the mount and/or nut. Damage to the front cover may occur if the stud is driven with the nut and does not sufficiently engage the front cover threads.





4. Position engine mount to front cover and install new nuts.
Torque: Engine Mount-to-Front Cover Nuts: 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)

NOTICE: When lowering the powertrain, it will be necessary to guide the mount over the midrail bracket studs to prevent damage to the stud threads.

5. Lower powertrain completely.





6. Install new engine mount-to-midrail bracket nuts.
Torque: Engine Mount-to-Midrail Bracket Nuts: 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)

CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON HOIST. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT TO THE OPPOSITE END OF THE VEHICLE THAT COMPONENTS WILL BE REMOVED FROM.

7. Raise vehicle on a hoist.
8. Loosen the two engine strut bracket-to-cradle fasteners to remove any fore/aft preload from the engine strut.





9. Tighten engine strut bracket-to-cradle nuts.
Torque: Engine Strut Bracket-to-Frame Nuts: 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)





10. Install upper wheelhouse panel.

NOTICE: Before installing wheels, remove rust or corrosion from wheel mounting surfaces and brake rotors/drums. Failure to do so can cause wheel nuts to loosen in service.

11. Position right front wheel onto hub.
12. Install wheel nuts and tighten in a crisscross pattern. Repeat tightening pattern to ensure torque is correct.
Torque: Wheel Nuts: 140 Nm (103 ft. lbs.)
13. Lower vehicle from hoist.
