Dash Panel Lower Insulator Replacement

Removal Procedure

Important: LHD shown, RHD similar.





1. Remove the floor mats.
2. Remove the hinge pillar garnish moldings.




3. Remove the left and right lower trim panel extensions by pulling outward at the dual lock locations, then rotate the panels outward to disengage the hinges from the console.




4. Pull the carpet back to expose the lower dash panel insulator.
5. Remove the push pin retainers that hold the lower dash insulator to the cowl.
6. On automatic transaxle vehicles, guide the lower dash insulator under the park lock cable and the shifter cable (1).
7. On manual transaxle vehicles, guide the lower dash insulator under the 2 shifter cables.
8. Remove the lower dash insulator from the right side of the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

Important: LHD shown, RHD similar.


1. Place the lower dash insulator in the vehicle, on the passenger side.
2. On automatic transaxle vehicles, guide the lower dash insulator under the park lock cable and the shifter cable.
3. On manual transaxle vehicle, guide the lower dash insulator under the 2 shifter cables.
4. Place the lower dash insulator's top edge under the upper dash insulator's bottom edge.
5. Place the side of the lower dash insulator behind the hinge pillar seal sound deadeners.
6. Install the push pin retainers.
7. Reposition the carpet.




8. Install the left and right lower trim panel extensions by inserting the hinges into the console openings. Rotate closed and push in at dual lock locations.




9. Install pillar garnish moldings.
