Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) - Bezel Replacement

REMOVAL




1. Disable the SIR system.
2. Loosen instrument panel upper trim panel:
2.1 Remove fasteners located under upper trim panel on passenger side of vehicle.

NOTE: Be careful not to damage VIN plate when removing or replacing I/P upper trim panel.

2.2 Disengage clips at locations by grasping edges of instrument panel upper trim and lifting up.
2.3 Disengage hook-and-loop fastener attachments at rear of instrument panel upper trim by reaching under panel and lifting straight up.
2.4 Raise instrument panel upper trim enough to clear VIN plate.




3. Loosen steering column filler panel fasteners.

NOTE: Do not remove weatherstrips. Adhesion Will be lost if removed.




4. Remove left endcap assembly.
4.1 Remove fasteners.
4.2 Carefully disengage clips at I/P retainer assembly locations. Use of a blunt tool will aid in disengaging clips.
4.3 Maneuver the assemblies past inner I/P retainer assembly and weatherstrips.




5. Gently pry edges of ignition lock bezel with a blunt tool and separate from lower shroud.




6. Remove fasteners from lower steering column shroud.
7. Lower steering column by pushing down on steering column adjusting handle.
8. Lift and remove upper shroud from steering column.




9. Remove I/P bezel:
9.1 Disengage clips from retainer assembly by grasping edges of bezel near clip location and pull outward.
9.2 Depress wiring connector tabs and remove harnesses from dimmer/traction control switch assembly.

INSTALLATION




1. Install I/P cluster bezel:
1.1 Position I/P cluster bezel by lining up clip location.
1.2 Connect wiring harness connector for dimmer/traction control switch.
1.3 Snap I/P cluster bezel in place by pushing at clip locations.




2. Position upper steering column shroud.
3. Position lower steering column shroud and install fasteners.

Torque:
Steering Column Shroud Fasteners: 1.5 N.m (13 in-lbs)




3.1 Align peg of ignition bezel with the cut-out in lower shroud.
3.2 Snap into place.
4. Install left endcap assembly:
4.1 Maneuver the assembly past inner I/P retainer assembly and weatherstrips.
4.2 Snap clips into I/P retainer assembly locations.
4.3 Install fasteners.

Torque:
Endcap-to-I/P Fasteners: 2.2 N.m (19 in-lbs)




5. Install steering column filler panel.

Torque:
Steering Column Filler Panel Fasteners: 2.2 N.m (19 in-lbs)

NOTE: Be careful not to damage VIN plate when removing or replacing I/P upper trim panel.




6. Install upper trim panel:
6.1 Ensure that hook-and-loop fastener attachments on upper trim panel are correctly inserted.
6.2 Position upper trim panel on retainer assembly.
6.3 Align tabs on sides of upper trim panel with openings in windshield garnish molding.
6.4 Align clips and clip location.
6.5 Firmly snap in clips at clip locations.
6.6 Install fasteners on underside of upper trim panel on passenger side of vehicle.

Torque:
I/P Upper Trim Panel Fasteners: 6 N.m (53 in-lbs)

7. Enable SIR system.
