Instrument Cluster - 2

REMOVAL




1. Disable the SIR system.
2. Remove instrument panel upper trim:
2.1 Remove fasteners located under upper trim panel on passenger side of vehicle.

NOTE: Be careful not to damage VIN plate when removing or replacing instrument panel upper trim.

2.2 Disengage clips at locations by grasping edges of instrument panel upper trim and lifting up.
2.3 Disengage hook-and-loop fastener attachments at rear of instrument panel upper trim by reaching under panel and lifting straight up.
2.4 Raise instrument panel upper trim enough to clear VIN plate.

If Equipped:
3. Disable head curtain inflator modules.




4. Loosen steering column filler panel bolts.

NOTE: Do not remove weatherstrips. Adhesion will be lost if removed.




5. Remove left endcap assembly.
5.1 Remove fasteners.
5.2 Carefully disengage clips at I/P retainer assembly locations. Use of a blunt tool will aid in disengaging clips.
5.3 Maneuver the assemblies past inner UP retainer assembly and weatherstrips.




6. Gently pry edges of ignition lock bezel with a blunt tool and separate from lower shroud.




7. Remove fasteners from lower steering column shroud.
8. Lower steering column by pushing down on steering column adjusting handle.
9. Lift and remove upper shroud from steering column.




10. Remove I/P bezel:
10.1 Disengage clips from retainer assembly by grasping edges of bezel near clip location and pull outward.
10.2 Depress wiring connector tabs and remove harnesses from dimmer/traction control switch assembly.




11. Remove instrument panel cluster:
11.1 Remove fasteners.
11.2 Disconnect electrical connector from Up cluster by squeezing tabs on each side of connector.

INSTALLATION




1. Install instrument panel cluster:
1.1 Place tabs on bottom of UP cluster into retainer assembly.
1.2 Install fasteners.

Torque:
I/P Cluster-to-I/P Housing Fasteners: 2.2 N.m (19 in-lbs)


1.3 Connect electrical connector to I/P cluster.




2. Install I/P cluster bezel:
2.1 Position I/P cluster bezel by lining up clip location.
2.2 Snap I/P cluster bezel in place by pushing at clip locations.
2.3 Connect wiring harness connector for dimmer/traction control switch.




3. Position upper steering column shroud.
4. Position lower steering column shroud and install fasteners.

Torque:
Steering Column Shroud Fasteners: 1.5 N.m (13 in-lbs)





4.1 Align peg of ignition bezel with the cut-out in lower shroud.
4.2 Snap into place.




5. Install left endcap assembly:
5.1 Maneuver the assembly past inner I/P retainer assembly and weatherstrips.
5.2 Snap clips into I/P retainer assembly locations.
5.3 Install fasteners.

Torque:
Endcap-to-I/P Fasteners: 2.2 N.m (19 in-lbs)





6. Install steering column filler panel.

Torque:
Steering Column Filler Panel Fasteners: 2.2 N.m (19 in-lbs)





If Equipped:
7. Enable head curtain inflator modules.

NOTE: Be careful not to damage VIN plate when removing or replacing upper trim panel.

IMPORTANT: Be sure upper trim panel seal is correctly seated on forward edge before installing upper trim panel.

8. Install upper trim panel:
8.1 Ensure that hook-and-loop fastener attachments on upper trim panel are correctly inserted.
8.2 Position upper trim panel on retainer assembly.
8.3 Align tabs on sides of upper trim panel with openings in windshield garnish molding.
8.4 Align clips and clip location.
8.5 Firmly snap in clips at clip locations.
8.6 Install fasteners on underside of upper trim panel on passenger side of vehicle.

Torque:
I/P Upper Trim Panel Fasteners: 6 N.m (53 in-lbs)


9. Enable SIR system.
