5. Case

TOOLS REQUIRED
- SA9133T Axle Seal Puller
- SA9173G Slide Hammer

DISASSEMBLY





1. Remove axle seal retainer (snap ring).
2. Remove axle sea] using Axle Seal Puller SA9133T by threading puller through steel seal body as close to outside diameter as possible.
3. Remove manual shift shaft oil seal by prying out with a screwdriver.





4. Remove input and output shaft bearings from case using snap ring pliers to expand snap ring only far enough to slide bearing out of its bore by hand.

IMPORTANT: The shaft contains O-rings which may cause difficulty in removing shaft. Rotating shaft while pulling will aid in removal.





5. Remove reverse idler assembly.
5.1 Remove reverse idler gear shaft cap bolts.
5.2 Remove cap.
5.3 Remove idler gear shaft.
5.4 Remove idler gear and bearing.





6. Unless the kilter bypass valve is physically damaged, there is no need to remove it. This valve will be damaged upon removal. To remove use tool SA9103E and Slide Hammer SA9173G.
