Brake Transaxle Shift Interlock (BTSI) System

BRAKE TRANSAXLE SHIFT INTERLOCK (BTSI) SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS
BTSI SOLENOID





1. Check solenoid connector for open, spread or corroded terminals.





2. Test solenoid:
2.1 Remove BTSI solenoid.
2.2 Ground terminal A of the BTSI solenoid and apply 12 volts to terminal B.
^ When 12 volts are applied to the BTSI solenoid, the actuator rod should not be able to move.
^ If the actuator rod can move with 12 volts applied, replace the BTSI solenoid.
