Clutch Hydraulic System Fluid Level Check

CLUTCH HYDRAULIC SYSTEM FLUID LEVEL CHECK

NOTICE: Carefully clean the cap and sides of the reservoir before removing the cap to prevent contamination of the system with dirt, water, or other foreign material.

1. Remove the clutch hydraulic reservoir cap.
2. Remove diaphragm.

IMPORTANT: A fluid loss in the system could indicate a leak. Check the clutch hydraulic system for leaks and replace if necessary.

3. Measure clutch hydraulic system fluid level with slave cylinder installed in transaxle clutch housing, the fluid level in the clutch hydraulic reservoir should be within 15 - 18 mm (0.59 - 0.71 inch) from top of clutch hydraulic reservoir.

NOTICE: Only DOT 3 brake fluid should be used in the clutch hydraulic system. Do not use any hydraulic oils or DOT 5 silicone brake fluid in the clutch hydraulic system. These fluids will cause damage to the internal component of the clutch hydraulic system requiring it to be replaced.

4. Add DOT 3 hydraulic brake fluid as required.
5. Install diaphragm.
6. Place cap on hydraulic reservoir.
