Fluid - M/T: Service and Repair

TRANSAXLE FLUID CHECKING PROCEDURE
It is not necessary to check fluid level unless fluid has been changed or a leak is suspected.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON THE HOIST. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON A HOIST, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE VEHICLE ON THE OPPOSITE END FROM WHICH COMPONENTS ARE BEING REMOVED.

IMPORTANT: Inspect fluid level only when engine is off. Ensure the vehicle is level. The transaxle must be cold.

1. Raise vehicle.
2. Remove fluid level check plug.





3. Verify that fluid is level with opening.
4. If transaxle is not properly filled, carefully add Dexron III fluid until it begins to flow out of fill/check plug.
5. Reinstall fluid level check plug.
Torque: Fluid Level Check Plug: 38 Nm (28 ft. lbs.)
6. Lower vehicle.
