2. Manual Shift Shaft and Parking System Components Installation

MANUAL SHIFT SHAFT AND PARKING SYSTEM COMPONENTS INSTALLATION

^ TOOLS REQUIRED
- J 44969 Manual Shift Shaft Seal Installer
- J 45190 Manual Shift Shaft Socket





1. Partially insert manual shift shaft (40) through case hole.
2. Install park pawl actuator assembly (43) on manual shaft detent lever (45).
3. Install manual shift shaft retainer (44), detent lever (45), manual valve link (47) and spring (48), and nut (46) on manual shift shaft (40).
4. Fully install manual shift shaft.





5. Using Manual Shift Shaft Socket J45190 and a wrench, tighten the manual shift shaft nut.
Torque: Manual Shift Shaft Nut: 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.)





6. Using Manual Shift Shaft Seal Installer J44969 and a hammer, install a new manual shift shaft seal assembly into transaxle case assembly.





7. Install park pawl reaction pin, park pawl and spring.
