Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL







1. Disconnect connection positive assurance (CPA) from the accelerator pedal position (APP) connector.
2. Disconnect accelerator pedal position (APP) connector from switch.

IMPORTANT:
^ Due to clearance issues, the upper attachment bolt cannot be removed from the accelerator pedal assembly. Loosen the bolt completely and leave bolt in component until switch is removed from vehicle.
^ To aid in the removal and installation procedures, a box end speed wrench could be used.




3. Remove accelerator pedal position switch attachment bolts to brake pedal bracket assembly.
4. Remove accelerator pedal position switch from vehicle.

INSTALLATION




1. Install upper attachment bolt into accelerator pedal position switch.




2. Install accelerator pedal position switch into vehicle.
3. Install attachment bolts into accelerator pedal position switch.

Torque:
Accelerator Pedal Position Switch-to-Brake Bracket Bolt: 25 N.m (18 ft-lbs)




4. Connect accelerator pedal position switch connector.
5. Install accelerator pedal position switch CPA.
