50. Output Shaft Sleeve Assembly

OUTPUT SHAFT SLEEVE ASSEMBLY

NOTICE: Stub Shaft Sleeve Installer J4122X must be used in order to install sleeve onto the output and stub shafts. There will be a fluid leak if J4122X is not used.





1. Place a sleeve over end of output shaft.
2. Install collet into output shaft snap ring groove with collet attached to threaded collet shaft.
3. Place sleeve installing tube over collet. Be sure small outside diameter of tube fits securely into sleeve.
4. Install bearing and nut onto threaded collet shaft.
5. In order to move the installing tube and press sleeve onto the output shaft, hold end of threaded collet shaft while tightening nut down.





6. Remove J41228.
7. Install a new snap ring into output shaft snap ring groove.
8. In order to prevent damage to axle shaft splines during vehicle operation, add grease (P/N 7843867) to splines on output shaft.
