Transmission Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR

REMOVAL

CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON THE HOIST. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON A HOIST, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE VEHICLE ON THE OPPOSITE END FROM WHICH COMPONENTS ARE BEING REMOVED.

1. Position vehicle on a hoist and raise vehicle.





2. Disconnect electrical connector.
3. Remove output speed sensor stud.
4. Remove output speed sensor from transaxle case.

IMPORTANT: Inspect O-ring for damage and replace if necessary.

5. Remove O-ring from output speed sensor.

INSTALLATION
1. Install O-ring onto output speed sensor.
2. Install output speed sensor into transaxle case.
3. Install output speed sensor stud.
Torque:
Output Speed Sensor Stud: 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.)
4. Connect electrical connector.
5. Lower vehicle.
