Shifter M/T: Service and Repair

ON-VEHICLE

CONTROL LEVER ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL





1. Disconnect control assembly boot trim from trim bezel.
2. Gently pry up window switch trim bezel.





3. Disconnect electrical connectors from window switch trim bezel and remove bezel.





4. Disconnect shift cables from shift cable adjusters.
5. Disconnect shift cables from control lever assembly housing by pressing retainers together and lifting upward.





6. Remove nuts retaining control lever assembly to control lever assembly bracket.

INSTALLATION
1. Install control lever assembly to control lever assembly bracket and attach with nuts.
Torque: Control Lever Nuts: 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)





2. Connect shift cables to control lever assembly.
3. With shift cable ends in adjusters, adjust cables by pushing shifter neutral lock clip. Move shifter slightly to center lock clip.

IMPORTANT: Ensure that transaxle is in neutral.

4. Press and lock shift cable retainers.
5. Pull shifter neutral lock clip to its original position.





6. Connect electrical connectors and install trim bezel.
7. Install control assembly boot to trim bezel.
