Torque Converter and Differential Housing Installation
^ Tools Required
- J 36850 Assembly Lubricant





1. Apply J 36850 to the prong-side mating surface of a drive sprocket thrust washer.
2. Install the thrust washer onto the torque converter and differential housing assembly.





Important: Apply the sealant on the inside mating surface around the bolt holes.

3. Apply a 3 mm (0.19 inch) bead of sealant GM P/N 22722716 to the mating surface of the transmission case assembly.





4. Carefully install the torque converter and differential housing assembly on the transmission case assembly.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Secure the torque converter and differential housing assembly to the transmission case assembly with 22 NEW bolts.
^ Tighten the bolts to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.) in the sequence shown.
