Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair

FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. The fuel tank pressure sensor is located on top of the fuel pump module cover.
2. Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle.
3. Disengage the electrical connector from the fuel tank pressure sensor.
4. Remove the retaining nut and washer.
5. Disengage the sensor from the fuel pump module cover.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: To facilitate installation of the tank pressure sensor into its mounting boss on the fuel pump module cover, lightly lubricate the multi-ribbed seal on the tank pressure sensor. A drop of clean engine oil is sufficient.




1. Install the tank pressure sensor into the fuel pump module cover mounting boss.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the retaining nut and washer.

Tighten the fuel tank pressure sensor nut to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

3. Install the electrical connector to the fuel tank pressure sensor.
4. Install the fuel tank.
