Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor Replacement
INFLATABLE RESTRAINT SIDE IMPACT SENSOR REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
Right side shown, left side similar.
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 2 or to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 6.
2. Remove the center pillar lower molding.
3. Remove the side impact sensor fasteners.
4. Remove the side impact sensor.
5. Remove the CPA and disconnect the electrical connector to the side impact sensor.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Finger start the fasteners to the side impact sensor.
2. Connect the electrical connector to the side impact sensor and insert the CPA to secure.
3. Place the side impact sensor through the access hole in the B-Pillar.
4. Move the module up and locate the captured fastener through the key slots in the B-pillar.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
5. Secure the captured fasteners in the side impact sensor.
Tighten the fasteners to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
6. Install the center pillar lower molding.
7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 2 or to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 6.
