Wiper Arm Replacement
WIPER ARM REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the wiper arm finish cap by pulling upward on the cap at the pivot location.
2. Mark both wiper arm positions on the windshield by using a wax pencil or tape.
3. Remove the wiper arm retaining nut and washer.
4. Lift the wiper arm away from the windshield and remove the wiper arm from the pivot shaft.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the wiper arm near the bottom of the windshield and align with the previously made alignment marks. If the windshield was replaced, position the drivers side center pivot of wiper arm 15 mm above the windshield lower molding and the passenger side wiper arm 45 mm above the windshield lower molding.
2. Install the wiper arm retaining washer and a new nut.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
IMPORTANT: Use new nuts. Torque retention of old nuts may not be sufficient.
Tighten the nuts to 12 N.m (9 lb ft).
3. Install the wiper arm finish cap.
4. Inspect the wiper/washer system for proper operation.
