Front Intake Runner Replacement

Intake Runner Replacement (Front)

^ Tools Required
- J 43914 Universal Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the intake hose assembly.






Important: Clamps are reusable if not damaged. Do not discard.

3. Remove 4 rubber boot hose clamps using the J 43914.





4. Remove the intake runner mounting bolts.
5. Disconnect the intake runner from the rubber boots and remove the intake runner.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the intake runner onto the rubber boots.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the intake runner mounting bolts.
^ Tighten the intake manifold runner bolts to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).






Important: Inspect the hose clamps for damage. Replace if damaged.

3. Install the 4 rubber boot hose clamps using the J 43914.





4. Install the hose assembly.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
^ Tighten the battery terminal bolts to 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
