Catalyst Shield: Service and Repair

Catalytic Converter Heat Shield Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the catalytic converter.
2. Remove the catalytic converter-to-heat shield bolts.
3. Remove the heat shield.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the heat shield.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the catalytic converter heat shield bolts.
^ Tighten the bolts to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
3. Install the front catalytic converter.
