Structural Reinforcement Inserts
Important: L Series vehicles are equipped with structural reinforcement inserts located in the Front Body Hinge Pillar/Rocker area, and Upper Center Pillar Roof area as shown in the illustration above. The purpose of the structural reinforcement inserts is to help distribute energy created from a collision through the entire vehicle. The front body hinge pillar/rocker area structural reinforcement inserts must be replaced when the front body hinge pillar is replaced. If the upper center pillar to roof area has visual damage above the section joint as defined in the center pillar panel - section removal and replacement procedure in this section, the structural reinforcement insert must be replaced. Failure to replace any structural reinforcement inserts as described above will compromise the structural integrity of the vehicle.
