Manifold Pressure/Vacuum Sensor: Service and Repair



MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE (MAP) SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Turn the ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor harness connector.
3. Remove the MAP sensor attachment bolt and remove the MAP sensor with the grommet.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Make sure the MAP sensor mounting surface is clean. Install the MAP sensor with the grommet and attachment bolt.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the manifold absolute pressure sensor bolt to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

2. Connect the MAP sensor harness connector. Push the connector in until the lock position is felt, then pull back to confirm engagement.
