Oil Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair

Engine Oil Pressure Sensor and/or Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Turn ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect engine oil pressure (EOP) switch harness connector.
3. Remove the EOP switch using the J 35749.

Installation Procedure





1. Apply RTV sealant (or equivalent) to the EOP switch threads.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the EOP switch.
^ Tighten the engine oil pressure switch to 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.).
3. Connect the EOP switch harness connector. Push in the connector until a click is heard, then pull back to confirm a positive engagement.
4. Check the oil level and fill if low.
5. Start the engine and check for leaks.
