Ignition Switch: Service and Repair



Ignition and Start Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the instrument cluster.
2. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder.




3. Remove the ignition and start switch bolts (1).
4. Separate the ignition and start switch (2) from the instrument panel.
5. Disconnect any electrical connectors.
6. Disconnect the park lock cable from the ignition and start switch.
7. Remove the theft deterrent control module.




8. Remove the ignition and start switch bracket bolts.
9. Remove the ignition and start switch bracket.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the ignition and start switch bracket.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Install the ignition and start switch bracket bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

3. Install the theft deterrent control module.




4. Connect the ignition and start switch (2) to the instrument panel.
5. Install the ignition and start switch bolts (1).

Tighten the bolts to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

6. Connect the park lock cable to the ignition and start switch.
7. Connect any electrical connectors.
8. Install the instrument cluster.
9. Install the ignition switch lock cylinder.
